Did you miss BIMLUX? Don’t panic, we’ll give you a recap! 😊
On November 19, 2019, the 4th edition of BIMLUX took place, the leading event for digital transformation in the construction sector in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg . Organized in collaboration with the OAI, Neobuild and LIST, this new edition took place at the European Convention Center in Kirchberg. Nearly 600 people were present.
For this edition, more than thirty speakers followed one another to present the advances in BIM in the Grand Duchy but also among its European neighbors and among them, our famous BIMERS, Mehdi Halal and Maryne Fosse (And yes, our two acolytes are still present when it comes to talking about BIM 😉).
After an introduction by Marc Hansen, Minister of Digitalization (very happy to be with us at this event, obviously! 😊), Moreno Viola , Director at CRTI-B, presented the roadmap for the evolution of BIM in Luxembourg, as well as support and technical assistance to all stakeholders in the sector in order to standardize the use of BIM in the country.
“75% of companies want to be BIM Ready”
Among the speakers:
David Determe , representative of the OAI BIM steering committee, spoke on the importance of collaboration between project stakeholders for a successful BIM transformation.
Francis Schwall , director of Neobuild, presented the BIM-Enterprise working groups and the innovations they are working on.
Sylvain Kubicki , Doctor of Architectural Science at LIST, spoke about the implementation of digital twins based on BIM models, allowing true holistic management of built environments, throughout their life cycle and involving the all the stakeholders in the project.
Christoph Kraus , head of Kompetenzzentrum Digitales Handwerk Koblenz, gave a keynote on the digitalization of the world of construction and crafts, with a particular focus on the processes and obstacles of the current implementation of BIM in projects and on deconstructing the myth of artificial intelligence in construction.
In the second part of the day, 8 thematic conferences followed, one of them being led by Mehdi and Maryne accompanied by their colleague from BIM&CO, Philippe Joron . These conferences in smaller groups focused in particular on practical subjects and concrete application such as the impact of BIM on calls for tender or the optimization of collaboration around the digital model.
And as a bonus, many professionals from the sector, including BIMConsult (yes, yes, still and always your favorite BIMers), were present on stands to answer all your questions… 😊
